I did 16 rounds of FOLFIRINOX. 6 rounds at 100% dose and 10 rounds at 80% dose. If you’re a BRCA mutated patient and platinum therapies show positive impact to your tumors(s), definitely look to other options like PARP inhibitors BEFORE your platinum therapy stops working.

As a participant in the UPenn Medicine Abramson Center PARPVax trial, I completed four rounds of Ipilumimab. They don’t let you do more than four rounds…now I know why. However, I think it definitely tuned up my immune system to have better visibility to find and kill mutated cells. Definitely pay attention to things that could induce a cytokine storm – I don’t recommend cytokine storms.

As a participant in the UPenn Medicine Abramson Center PARPVax trial, I began taking Niraparib. I know it doesn’t work for everyone, but, so far, for me it has been a literal lifesaver and a life enabler. Its difficult to actually live while you are alive on chemo, but my dosing of Niraparib has had minimal side effects. I am supremely thankful for the care and work of Dr. Riess Binder and the entire Abramson Center team!
